What started as a basic 4-page website grew to twice its size during design and development.

My client had wanted a simple site for the Findlay Men’s USTA Tennis League. He wanted to provide team members with online schedules, stats, and highlights of games played through the year. As pages where completed, he made changes and added more. The end result is a website that perfectly fits the team’s needs.

First change was adding a photo gallery for tournament shots and candid photos of the players and their families. Then, current weather, maps to the various tennis courts, and a member’s area with an online message board were added for the players’ convenience.

The side navigation is a fun touch my client wanted—the tennis balls roll to the right when you hover over a menu item.

It didn’t take long to come up with a concept for Fleur Elise. My client wanted a soft, feminine layout reminiscent of a lady’s boudoir with just enough space to feature her handmade bath and beauty items. The products were linked to a PayPal shopping cart, and pop-ups were used for larger images. Although Fleur Elise is a small website with just four pages, there is room for up to 20 products on a page with unlimited expansion, if desired.

NOTE: This website never went live. Just a week prior to its launch, my client sold her entire product line and its copyright to a major distributor in the UK. While playing the online game, Star Wars Galaxies, my client had collected quite bit of information he thought might be of use to other players.

He wanted a simple blog where he could post the information, update and edit easily, and add all page content himself.

WordPress was the answer, and SWGForce was born. It was just a matter of finding a suitable WordPress theme—Dropshadow by Brian Gardner—creating a custom banner, uploading the theme files to the client’s server, setting everything up, and turning the project over to him for completion.

In a word . . . easy.

My client was in the process of developing a code base for hardcore MUD developers and game players.

He wanted a website where he could talk about the code, offer it for download, continue development, and find sponsors.

Color scheme for the layout for CygmaMud was inspired by the photo of a castle chosen for the HOME page. A bright green, used for the custom title image and “Get the Code” button, pops on the page.

Text is carefully placed to provide plenty of white space for easy reading.
